Fear Response

Think about Patrick and his fear of worms. Has there ever been a time in which you had a fear of something and you never told someone about it because you did not want to interfere with what they wanted to do? Has there ever been a time where you made up a story so you did not have to do something because you did not want to tell someone of a fear you had? Write about an experience you had with a fear.

When I was in first grade my sister told me that clowns were evil. She said that if I saw one I should run away because they were going to make me climb into the canon and then shoot me out of it. She said that the clowns would put makeup on me that would make me shrink to fit better in the canon and that I would never ever get bigger. My friend Sarah invited me to go to the circus for her birthday and I was afraid to go because she said there are going to be lots of clowns. But I went anyway because she was my friend and I didn’t want her to know I was afraid.

Ever since I was little I was scared of dogs. One time I got bit by one, and then I was scared. I had to go to my cousins' house once and they had a dog there. I did not want to tell them that I was afraid because I did not want them to think I was a wimp. Their dog liked me a lot. It even slept with me. I am still scared of dogs, but I never let my cousins know.
